The Interactive Realities Laboratory (IRL) at the University of Central Florida's Institute for Simulation and Training researches areas within virtual and augmented reality with a focus on environments that are dynamically changing (physically realistic), user and world alterable (interactive and multi-modal) and distributed (multiple players within the world). Specifically, we pursue research in multi-modal simulation, game-based learning, adaptive training, competitive learning, interactive high performance computing, and applied research.
The lab consists of faculty, staff & students ranging from computer science to electrical engineering to digital media. The lab has participated in over $29 million dollars of funded research since 2000 and also collaborates closely with a number of other labs across UCF.
